Where things stand today
Safe Paws currently carries no affiliate links, no ads, and sells nothing. Nobody pays me to write anything here. If you're reading a guide today, no part of it was influenced by money.
I'm publishing this page before that's true because I'd rather you know the rules in advance than discover them later.
If that changes
The likely path for a site like this is affiliate links on prevention products — pet first-aid kits, pet-proofing supplies, that sort of thing — where I'd earn a small commission if you buy through a link, at no extra cost to you. If it happens, this is how it will work:
You'll always be told, on the page itself. A clear disclosure at the top of any guide containing affiliate links — not buried in the footer, not hidden in small print.
A commission will never change what a guide says. Not the recommendation, not the ranking, not the warnings. If the best answer to "which first-aid kit should I buy?" is "the cheap one" or "none of them, build your own", that's what the guide will say.
Nothing gets recommended because it pays well. Products earn a mention by being genuinely useful for the safety problem the guide is about. If I can't recommend something honestly, it doesn't go in — no matter what it pays.
Safety content stays clean. Emergency guides — what to do when your pet has eaten something — will always put "call your vet or a poison hotline" first. I'm not going to monetise your worst night.
This page will always tell the truth about the current situation. When the first affiliate link goes live, this page changes the same day.
What I won't do
- Sponsored posts, paid reviews, or paid links — the answer is no, please don't ask
- "Guest posts" that exist to place a link
- Recommending anything I wouldn't use for Robin
Why this matters here specifically
This is a pet safety site. If you can't trust that the reason I told you something is dangerous is because it's dangerous — and not because something else pays better — then nothing else on this site is worth reading either.
